David A. Utter wrote on WebProNews Bloggers Going To Libby Trial

The Media Bloggers Association will have two seats available to its members once the Scooter Libby trial begins in Washington after the Martin Luther King holiday. We've been sitting on this story about blogger credentials for a couple of weeks now and its been killing me to keep quiet about it. So, I am glad its now out there. We will be putting out a press release about it later today and may have more to announce soon.

I am in New York so I have not seen the hard copy of the paper but I am told the story ran on the front page of the Finance section of the Post, with a headline above the fold. I hear they have two photos of me which might be two photos too many.

"Our members are not going in there to file wire service copy or be pool reporters -- they're going to express opinions," Cox said.

Anne Broache wrote on CNet Court grants media cred to bloggers for 'Scooter' Libby trial

The bloggers plan to work not from the courtroom itself but from an overflow room, which they've been assured by court officials will be equipped with wireless Internet access. Their posts will be aggregated at the association's Web site. Sheldon Snook, administrative assistant to Chief Judge Thomas Hogan, said court officials agreed to the set-up because "bloggers can bring a depth of reporting that some traditional media organizations aren't able to achieve because of space and time limitations," according to a story in Thursday's Washington Post.
