U.S. Transportation Secretary Peters Now Blogging

I just got a call from a transportation industry publication asking for an interview about Fastlane, the new blog put up on the Department of Transportation web site. I had not heard about it before although I do seem to recall some federal agency having a blog like this. Not sure though.

In either case, I read it and was surprised to find that it is actually very good. It is a group blog where SecDOT Mary E. Peters blogs along with her Deputy Secretary and heads of the various deparments - FAA, FHWA, FMCSA, FRA, FTA, MARAD, NHTSA, PHMSA, RITA and SLSDC. The blog is in a nice, conversational tone and even has comments and posts with links to newspaper articles.
