MBA Web Site Development Work Plan - Status Report

Over the past six months, we've been hard work taking the MBA web site through the first few phases of the Work Plan and are now taking a brief pause to collect ourselves and prepare for the coming phases.

Between the summer of 2006 and the end of January we completed the following:

PHASE ONE: Pre-Launch

Select blogware/dbase software DONE
Finalize spec doc DONE
Finalize workplan DONE

PHASE TWO: Launch

Install drupal on MBA Server DONE
Install mysql on MBA Server DONE
Login capability DONE
Replicate basic copy from old site on new site DONE
Match MBA logo to new color scheme DONE
Define Fields in new member database DONE
Build first three blogs (Main Page, MBA in the News, Words in Edgewise) DONE
Build MBA RSS Edited Feeds (build aggregator) DONE

PHASE THREE: Member Database Clean Up, More Blogs

Invite all current members; correct/clean data DONE
Add additional blogs (MBA Announcements, MBA IT/Webmaster, MBA Membership, MBA Legal, BlogNashville DONE
Add MBA Media Kit into "MBA in the News" blog DONE
Vector graphic of MBA logo DONE

PHASE FOUR: Finalize MBA Member Database Approval Process

Install PayPal module with basic accounting; map to Member Database and Drupal DONE
Notify current members of Annual Dues activation DONE
Invite queue of pending applicants; bill for application fee
Draft boilerplate emails for all states of referral process

WORK PLANNED FOR FUTURE PHASES

We will be meeting next week to slot these projects into specific phases so we can't be sure when these items will be completed but over the coming months we will be working on the following:

MBA Hosted Logo Project
Voting Module (Awards Voting, Member Surveys, Policy Votes)
Add Non-Members in Member Database (Journalists, Publicists, TV/Radio Bookers, etc.)
MBA Virtual Press Conferences (hosted chat)
Book Review module
Polish the look and feel of the site

Add additional blogs within Drupal (this should also give you a sense of some of the initiatives we have planned; if something sounds interesting let us know)
