New MBA Web Site Launched - Important - Must Read

We are very pleased to announce that after a year of planning and
months of development the new MBA site is live. This is not the
"official" launch so we are not advertising the new site now (we will send out a press release in January). We have a new logo color (blue/ black) which should now being served on your blogs (for those members who have been hosting their own version of the logo be advised that in January we will be requiring all members to link the logo from the MBA server not host it themselves)

It has been several months since I last communicated directly to the entire membership. The reason was simple - there were many things in the works but none of them was complete and I did not want to waste your time with updates on projects that have been moving targets. We are soon going to make up for lost time.

The first thing that needed to get done was a new site that contained, among other things, a member database so that members could manage/update their membership profile. For a variety of
reasons including our desire to have "clean" data and security we
decided to start with an empty database, invite all existing members as if they were new members and have you complete a membership application (note: you can skip the "essay" field). During the transition from the old to new site we will have TWO sets of member data (until January 15th) so do not be surprised to see duplicate emails over the next couple of weeks. Once we end the current "data clean up" project we will have one email list generated from your self-managed member profile within the new site.

You will get a second email soon - an "invitation" email which
contains a unique link tied to your email address. It expires in
five days. Follow the instructions in that email; it should take 1-2 minutes to complete the form. Next week I will run a report of all those members with expired invites and re-invite them and keep re-inviting them until January 15th. That's a real pain for me so I would sure appreciate folks acting on that email promptly. Thanks :-)

As you will learn by reading the links below, the new site is in
Drupal which means we can (and do) have many blogs within the site. One of them is a new personal blog for me called "Words in
Edgewise". I have published a series of posts there intended to
bring you up to speed on the MBA. It is very important that you read these posts as they contain information about changes for the MBA.
