Closing Loop on MBA Member Database Cleanup Project
The dealine announced last month to complete the clean up for the MBA Member database is fast upon us - tomorrow.
I've been sending emails to members for the past month. Those that have not responded have been sent increasingly frantic, obnoxoious, hysterical emails. So, sorry for that but I am going to be very unhappy to learn that we removed someone from MBA membership only because they did not read the emails we've been sending.
As noted in each of these emails - and in the announcements and posts last month - those current members who do not use the special link they've been sent to complete the new "membership profile" form on the new web site by January 15th, 2007 will be purged from our membership list and will no longer be members of the MBA.
As I have spoken to some members about this, they have told me that they did not realize that these warning messages applied to them. They tell me "But I am already a member". Of course, what they are really telling me is that they have not read the emails because they could not be more clear on this point.
As of right now there are over 100 members who are about to be purged from the MBA member rolls. All I can say is that we did what we could to alert members to the new policy and make them aware that after January 15th, they will be permitted to re-apply for membership under the new policies which include paying a $25 application fee. We will do our best to process those soon-to-be-former members whose applications are received this month (January 2007) by the next MBA board meeting in the middle of February.
You can learn more about MBA Membership and our application process here.
