"Crawl the District" After BlogNashville

After the "Food for Thought" Dinners, we've arranged for BlogNashville participants to "crawl the district" and check out some of Nashville's downtown night spots (okay, honkey tonks). Or, for those who'd rather meet-up than crawl, we have a suggested spot for you, as well.

Most of the spots (unless indicated) have agreed to wave any cover charges for BlogNashville participants (bring the badge you get at registration; tell them Mr. Roboto sent you). In fact, we've asked Nashville nightlife blogger Mr. Roboto of ThursdayNightFever.com, to suggest his favorite "crawl" route:

"What we usually do is start at Legends (Corner of 5th and Broadway), which has a usually wide open upper level and plenty of country music. Then — and this is the key — you go out the back door, and then go in the back door of the next place, then out the front door of that place, weaving in and out of all of them until you find a place that’s really rocking. We usually skip Tootsies, due to the packed tourist crowds, but the other places (Layla's, Robert's, Second Fiddle, and The Stage) are generally a lot of fun.

If you want to get away from the country bars, but stay near them, Bailey's Sports Grille is a large, two level modern sports bar with lots of pool and big televisions.

Venturing further down Broadway and taking a left on Second will take folks to Mulligan's Irish Pub, which has live, rowdy Irish music on Saturdays (and Fridays) until long past midnight. Across the street from Mulligan's, folks can go into the Wildhorse Saloon (cover), which is really big and a great place to arrange meetups late on Saturday.

If folks are really, really feeling adventurous, they should head over to Printer's Alley and hear future singers at Lonnies or hear Nashville's best blues at Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar ($10 cover, but worth it)."

For those who'd like to meet-up rather than crawl, we're suggesting The Global Cafe at the corner of 4th and Broadway. It is a huge, new coffee/café in the former Planet Hollywood space and even has WiFi for those who can't stand the thought of not blogging what they're experiencing.
