BlogNashville Debrief

If you have comments, suggestions or just want to wave goodbye to BlogNashville please add a comment. It's a little hard to think about "next time" but if there is a next time and you have ideas on sessions, logistics, technical issues or anything else on how we might build on this event the Media Bloggers Association would like to hear from you.

The Professor points us to a BlogNashville streaming video feed. To view the feed, click the link, login with any username, and then select "Blog Nashville" from the list of sources on the left. The video should start streaming in the lower left-hand corner of the page.

This is a summary of this weekend's activities with links to the posts here and other sites.

Anoniblogging Roundtable

MBA Board Meeting - CLOSED MEETING

Impromptu Thursday Night Dinner

Between the CARR Training and early arrivals there are about two dozen people already in town for BlogNashville so we have organized a "BlogNashville meetup" at Sole Mio in the Downtown Section of Nasvhille (311 3rd Avenue South - 256-4013 $$ Italian)

Nashville Scene says...If you're looking for genuine Italian food, then visit this restaurant, sitting on a hilltop overlooking downtown Nashville. Chef Carlo Agnoletti, who owns Sole Mio with his New York-born wife Debra, is from the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy, known for its supremacy in pasta-making, particularly the fresh egg varieties.

"Crawl the District" After BlogNashville

After the "Food for Thought" Dinners, we've arranged for BlogNashville participants to "crawl the district" and check out some of Nashville's downtown night spots (okay, honkey tonks). Or, for those who'd rather meet-up than crawl, we have a suggested spot for you, as well.

Most of the spots (unless indicated) have agreed to wave any cover charges for BlogNashville participants (bring the badge you get at registration; tell them Mr. Roboto sent you). In fact, we've asked Nashville nightlife blogger Mr. Roboto of ThursdayNightFever.com, to suggest his favorite "crawl" route:

CARR Training Kicks Off BlogNashville Weekend

UPDATE 5/5/05: The big day is upon us as the first event of BlogNashville, CARR Training, will begin this morning at 9 AM at the Freedom Forum. For those driving to the Freedom Forum, parking is on the TOP deck of the parking garage directly across the street from the Freedom Forum/ First Amendment Center offices. Access is via the ramp from the adjacent uncovered surface lot (if you are standing on the road facing the deck, the ramp is from the parking lot to your right; ground floor parking under the deck is for employees only)

The MBA is excited to offer the first-ever journalism training program tailored specifically for bloggers. [more]

Food for Thought Dinners

UPDATE 5/3/05: We need to get final numbers to the resturants and then release any unconfirmed seats so please send your requests as you are reading this.

The Food For Thought dinners are a way to continue discussions raised during sessions earlier in the day in a more informal, personal setting. All dinners will begin at 8pm on Saturday. All tables will be reserved under the name of the discussion leader. Attending the session is not a prerequisite for attending the dinner but is generally a good idea. Since space is limited, you must sign up if you'd like to attend. This is IN ADDITION to registering for BlogNashville. We will do our best to accomodate one of your first three choices but we can't make any guarantees. Please note that all attendees will be expected to pay for their own meal.

BlogNashville Mobcast

Brendan Greeley, discussion leader for the PODcasting/audio blogging session, has set up something very cool - a BlogNashville mobcast.

Anyone can call in and record an mp3 from a phone; the mp3 is then displayed on the blog and fed out as a podcast. Brendan says "it's an experiment. I want to see if we can share our experiences, out on the town, snapshot impressions after a session, in the airport, that sort of thing. It works best if we can get a critical mass of people to start doing it so don't be shy."

Tagging BlogNashville

If you're talking about BlogNashville in your blog or your del.icio.us feed use the "BlogNashville" tag. If you are taking photos upload them to flickr and tag them with "BlogNashville".

Why? Because then all the blog posts, feeds and photos from BlogNashville can be aggregated on pages like this one and that is really cool.

If you are not familiar with "tags", Technorati has a primer on the subject. Also check out del.icio.us and Flickr!, Flickr photostream or other space, please use the tag 'blognashville'.
